Adrian and I have been playing around with this web 2.0 based applicaion called Live Mesh. Basically you get free web space (5 gigabytes) and you can add device (PCs only, Macs and Mobiles to come soon) to it and then from any computer with Internet you can access what called live desktop ( which contains all your files you have uploaded ) or do remote desktop your computers which, while presents a security risk the person must first get your Live password and then a password to your local Computer.
And it is really simple…i signed up in about 2 seconds all you need is a live account and that’s it.
Anyways here are some pics of what it looks like:
Above is the device select where you can choose to Live Desktop or a computer to access or add a device to Mesh.
Above is the live desktop where you can access all the files you have uploaded. After the installing of a 1.5 MByte Client you can set the computer to sync a folder to Live Desktop so say for school/work files you can always access them where ever you are Provided you have a Internet Connection. This obviously presents interesting features in terms of backups, i means you will always have atleast 2 copys of any file you choose.
Also remember, the picture above is from a browser, to get an interface like that no client software is required.
Go check it out at the Live Mesh Website.
Also added to the link section of blog.
I hope you enjoy it and have fun.
John
